Pastor John Collins, Bringing Back God Church

"The doors to the historic church are open, literally, seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 9 or 10 p.m., with Sunday school at 9 a.m. and worship at 10 a.m. Sundays, adult Bible study at 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Alcoholic Anonymous meetings at 7 p.m. Wednesdays.

A white board on an easel on the sidewalk reads: "Need to talk? Come on in and meet the pastor."
"Some people find it odd," Collins says. "They come in and ask, 'Can I get an appointment?' And I say, 'Yeah, come on in.' They think that's pretty cool."

Pastor John Collins of the Bringing Back God Church

"To demonstrate the power of God, he points to Prichitt-White and notes that she has lost 50 pounds and stopped taking high blood pressure medications since May.

"All I've done is been here and had faith," she says.

Luttman had never spoken in public until recently, when he led a service for Collins.
"This church is like family," Luttman says.

"They treat everyone like family," Prichitt-White says.
"These are people who say 'We love you and we hear you,'" Collins says. "There's no judging. We will help them."
